Summary

My research interests are focussed on the application of novel nonlinear dynamics methods to analysis, design and control of mechanical engineering systems. Research activities in my group have been supported by various bodies including British Council, EC, EPSRC, ESA, London Mathematical Society, Office of Naval Research (US), Royal Society, Delaware University (US) and industry. I have won various international prizes including a Senior Fulbright Fellowship to the University of Delaware. I collaborate extensively with colleagues from the UK, western and eastern Europe, and the US. On regular basis I act as a referee of grant proposals and books, and some twenty peer review journals. Since 2000 I have been serving as a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College. I am asked frequently to join scientific conference committees, chair international conferences sessions, and deliver invited lectures. I have published one monograph, seven book chapters, around hundred and fifty journal and conference papers I hhave edited a number of volumes on nonlinear dynamics of mechanical systems including a special issue of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society.
