Earl Dowell is the William Holland Hall Professor of Engineering at Duke University. Dr. Dowell is the author or co-author of over two hundred research articles and four books including the recently published "Dynamics of Very High Dimensional Systems" (World Scientific Press, 2003) and "A Modern Course in Aeroelasticty" (Kluwer Academic Publishing, 4th Edition, 2004). He is an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering, an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Academy of Mechanics.
